About

I'm Veronica Choulga, a 2D animator with a style shaped by the surrealism of Soviet cartoons I grew up watching. That early influence still runs through my work today, especially in the way I approach atmosphere, character, and movement. I focus on character animation, using subtle gestures and expressions to explore complex emotional dynamics and relationships.

I’ve been self-taught in animation for the past five years, and my digital practice is grounded in a background in traditional art. I studied anatomy and oil painting at the Academy of Realist Art in Boston, which gave me a strong foundation in form and composition that continues to inform my animated work.

I graduated with honors from the University of Chicago, where I completed a triple major in Economics, Art History, and Cinema & Media Studies. Before that, I graduated from Phillips Exeter Academy in 2021 with highest honors. I’m currently open to collaborations, freelance work, and new creative opportunities.
